Gilda armchair, design by Carlo Molino for Zanotta

The frame, legs and armrests are made of oak-dyed ash wood. The bronzed brass used for the hardware makes for a pleasant contrast with the wooden structure, which is of a significantly lighter shade. The seat and back cushion are upholstered with polyurethane Dacron DuPont covered in leather. The leather cover is available in various colors. The back is adjustable in four different positions, ensuring maximum comfort and a relaxing experience.

The contrast between the upholstering, the leather cover of the internal body and the minimalist wood structure endow the Gilda armchair with a particular balance in the distribution of weights. Thus, the chair is at the same time austere and inviting. Designed in 1954, this is a classic piece of the 20th Century.

Zanotta logo

Zanotta
Zanotta has been a dominant figure in the world of design ever since it was established in 1954. It helped establish some of the most influential designers of the 20th Century, including Achille Castiglioni, Gae Aulenti, Marco Zanuso, Ettore Sottsass, Joe Colombo, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Giuseppe Terragni, Carlo Mollino, De Pas-D'Urbino-Lomazzi, Enzo Mari, Bruno Munari, Alfredo Haberli, Werner Asslinger and Ross Lovegrove. Yet, even while collaborating with some of the most successful furniture and interior designers of our age, Zanotta has maintained a provocative and innovative style. Thanks to its ability to keep apace and precede changing styles Zanotta's design has consistently obtained international recognition. It is no surprise, that products by Zanotta are exposed all over the world, including at the New York's MOMA and Metropolitan Museum, the Paris Centre George Pompidou, the London Design Museum, Berlin's Arts and Crafts Museum, the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
