VP1 carpet design by Verner Panton, Designer Carpets

This 1978 rug is entirely hand-made in pure virgin wool.

The carpet can be ordered in custom sizes. The rug in the picture is size 78.74" x 78.74" in (200 x 200 cm). The VP1 carpet is available in different lengths and widths as well as varying shapes (rectangular, square, round). The design remains unchanged, unless the size requested is inferior to w. 70.87” x d. 47.24” (cm 180x 120), in which case the pattern may vary. Please contact us for more information or a quote.

Verner Panton's (1926-1998) work is considered revolutionary due to his having introduced Pop art elements into interior design. After graduating at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen, Panton began working at Ame Jacobsen's studio. Soon after he began collaborating with some of the major Scandinavian designers. His work is characterized by his unique use of materials and is known for the use of plastic and shocking colors.

Verner Panton's creations are by now cult objects. The Panton Chair (1967) was the first chair to be made with printing injection using a single material and in a single piece. The futurist armchairs 'cone” and “heart” demonstrate Panton's rejection of traditional approaches to chair design.

Panton's rugs are works of art that play with shapes and colors reflecting the style from the 1960s. The VP1 is a perfect example of Panton's masterful use of shapes to create optical illusions.

Delivery to: Inside your residence to room of your choosing.
Assembly Service: The delivery team will unpack the product and provide up to 45 minutes of light setup that can require basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other).
Packaging: The shipper will remove and dispose of all packaging.

Delivery Instructions

Your order will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier to ensure the safest and most convenient delivery.
The following should be noted:

A white glove delivery team consists of at least two people who will be in charge of carrying your order to your home from the back of the truck. This way you don't have to worry about transporting any heavy loads yourself.
Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. Please note that failure to receive the order at the time previously agreed on can result in a higher fee.
You must inspect your order at the time of delivery. If there is any sign of damage on the item or if you are concerned there may be damage, please make sure you write "Product Damaged" on the sheet you are asked to sign. This ensures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to resolve the problem.
