The base is a four point pedestal made of cast aluminium. The chair has a novelty factor as it can tilt and swivel from it's base.

 The Egg chair was designed in 1957 for the lobby and lounge areas at the exclusive Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen togheter with the swan chair. Jacobsen designed the entire complex building, the furniture, the interior, as well as the light fittings, carpets, cutlery and even ashtrays.

The Egg chair became Famous to be the first swiveling upholstered chair.

The Egg Chair is unique in that sitters can swivel toward the conversation area or away from others if privacy is desired. A mechanism allows for relaxed lounging and the high back and curving elements are reminiscent of a traditional wing chair.

Almost 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated urbanism.

Delivery Instructions

Your order will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier to ensure the safest and most convenient delivery.
The following should be noted:

• A white glove delivery team consists of at least two people who will be in charge of carrying your order to your home from the back of the truck. This way you don't have to worry about transporting any heavy loads yourself.
• Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. Please note that failure to receive the order at the time previously agreed on can result in a higher fee.
• You must inspect your order at the time of delivery. If there is any sign of damage on the item or if you are concerned there may be damage, please make sure you write "Product Damaged" on the sheet you are asked to sign. This ensures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to resolve the problem.
